This degree specializes in acute care for adults in emergency departments, intensive and critical care units, ambulatory centers, hospitals and other healthcare facilities. This course prepares nurse practitioners to manage, improve and sustain the health of adolescents, adults and geriatrics with acute illnesses, in both traditional settings and among under served populations. Students are trained in diagnostic reasoning, clinical decision making, intensive therapies and assessment of multiple body systems.
