If you’re a registered nurse with a BSN, then you are free to pursue an advanced degree in nursing education through Indiana State University’s MSN program. Courses include a theoretical and clinical core, research, classroom course work and practice, guided electives, and a culminating experience.
The program is designed to provide RNs with opportunities to understand nursing education from a variety of angles, including teaching methodology and evaluation, as well as the chance to understand the complexities of the educator role. Students have the opportunity to pursue guided teaching experiences through mentor/preceptor structures that will provide them with chances to plan, implement and evaluate classroom and clinical instruction in wide variety of settings. This program also serves as a stepping stone for those students interested in going on to pursue their doctorate.
