This program is based on a foundation of biological, physical and social sciences, but also includes an emphasis on the liberal arts designed to enhance the social, cultural and intellectual understanding of the professional nurse. It is constructed in such a manner to provide its students with the professional knowledge and skills needed to excel in nursing, client and health care systems.

Graduates are expected to be able to use a variety of criteria to evaluate therapeutic, theory-based interventions and utilize scholarly research to enhance patient treatment. Additional skills acquired include the ability to effectively communicate the transmission of ideas, concepts and information.
